College of Nursing

The College of Nursing is a very special place, with a more than 70-year history of leadership in the advancement of nursing science, education and practice. In the spring of 2005, the NYU Board of Trustees elevated the Division of Nursing at the Steinhardt School of Education to a College of Nursing at the NYU College of Dentistry. The new College of Nursing will continue to offer one of the top undergraduate programs in the country as it prepares future nurses for leadership roles in the profession.

The baccalaureate program in nursing will prepare you to be a generalist professional nurse practitioner, ready for a breathtaking array of career opportunities and position you immediately for an extraordinarily strong job market. Fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission, the academic program combines nursing theory and clinical practice with a strong liberal arts curriculum. Our commitment to a liberal arts base for your nursing education will foster the development of friendships with classmates from across the university and around the world. In addition to offering fieldwork placements in some of the nation’s top medical centers, the College’s community-based projects offer exposure to diverse populations and experiences across a range of clinical facilities. Finally, our study abroad opportunities provide valuable lessons in global health.

Nursing faculty members are nationally recognized as nursing scholars and leaders in a wide range of specialty areas. The College of Nursing is located in newly renovated building in the heart of our Greenwich Village campus. Facilities include four nursing arts laboratories, a computerized patient simulator, a computer resource center, and state-of-the-art classrooms.
