Application Checklist
Regular Decision
- Complete and sign the Application for Admission to Undergraduate Study.
- Complete the Personal Statements/Essay.
- Enclose the application fee ($65.00 for applicants living in the United States; $75.00 for all others) or request a fee waiver, if applicable.
- Before sending any of your forms, make photocopies for your records.
- Complete your portion (top) of the High School Report/Counselor Recommendation Form and give it to your college adviser or guidance counselor.
- Complete your portion (top) of the Teacher Recommendation Form and give it to a teacher with a stamped, addressed envelope.
- Submit your application, either the paper version or online, following the procedures established by your high school.
- Request that your SAT Reasoning Test, SAT Subject Test, or ACT scores (and/or TOEFL scores, if applicable) be sent from the testing agencies directly to NYU (the NYU code for SAT and TOEFL scores is 2562; the code for ACT scores is 2838)
- Some majors require additional materials such as an audition or portfolio. See the Special Program Requirements page for exact requirements and deadlines.
For Early Decision
(Complete all of the above items, plus)
- Indicate on your application that you are an Early Decision candidate by checking the Early Decision box in the "Filing Status" section and by completing the Early Decision Signature block in the "Signatures" section of the application.
- Complete the Early Decision Agreement Form by signing it yourself and having a parent or guardian and your college adviser or guidance counselor sign as well.
- Complete and submit the Early Decision Program Financial Aid Application.
