Quite a statement. But we are from New York, after all, and everyone knows how New Yorkers are. Even our president, John Sexton, goes around saying things like "NYU is THE New York University."

So just how is NYU different? For starters, our campus is located in the heart of Manhattan's Greenwich Village, a hip urban community that's the ideal place for students to live and learn. Because there are no walls separating our campus from the community, you'll be right in the thick of things and that's a fact that makes us different from most research universities and from most urban universities.
